What is the easiest way to have my application request Full Disk Access?

I have watched this video here and it seems like just touching a file that itself requires FDA is the best way to accomplish this.

Is there any other way? There's no simple API to automatically add your application to the Security & Privacy > Privacy > Full Disk Access dropdown and prompt the user for FDA?

Correct. You have to manually walk the user through the process.
