Installing MacOS Beta on M1 Macs

How do you install the latest macOS 12.1 RC in M1 Macs? When I download from this link:

I get an ipsw file.

Do over-the-air updates not work for beta software in M1 macs?

This is to do a full offline install. Quite a bit more complicated than simply doing an OTA install.

The simple solution is to click on the 'Install Profile' button.

That will download a profile that you can double click and install on your Mac to do the OTA installation. It's how I updated my M1.

Thanks! I tried that but got a pop-up message about rosetta needed to be installed, so I wasn't sure if that would install the profile that also supports the beta software for M1 macs. I'll give it another go. Cheers!

I am also having trouble installing macOS 12.1 RC on my 14" MacBook Pro M1Max. My current Version is 12.1 B4 or (21C5039b). When I run to check for updates, it says I have the latest update. I tried reinstalling the OTA profile but still no new update. Has anyone had this particular problem?

Start Activity-App -> show all processes (standard is set to show your own processes). Then look for com.apple.NRD.UpdateBrainService Kill this process and then the update will be shown directly. Maybe you have to kill this process several times if you cannot see a progress during installation.
