Monterey Beta 5 Breaks Outlook

Just installed the beta 5 update. Microsoft Outlook will start but when I select a message to read, the app crashes.

After doing some testing, most messages are fine but if I try to open one from the US Post Office's informed delivery, it shows "Downloading" and then crashes Outlook.

Other messages that contain images, will show the "Downloading" message as well but will eventually load the content.

Is there something I can provide to troubleshoot this?

Outlook and the USPS messages were working fine before the beta 5 install.

I had this issue. I removed Outlook for Mac and reinstalled Office via https://portal.office.com/account#, set Office update to Beta, problem solved. I am now on Outlook 16.53, 21082901.

There is a new build of 16.53 the previous one was 21082406. I received 21082901 this morning. Also Beta 6 is now out there.

When I upgraded MacOS it did not load beta 6 it loaded some prior version. It's now doing a second upgrade to Beta 6. Details after that finishes.

SOLUTION :

  1. Launch Microsoft AutoUpdate
  2. Select Advanced
  3. Select Beta Channel
  4. Select Check For Updates
  5. Update to latest MS Outlook (currently : v.16.53)
  6. Done !

:)

The latest Outlook update seems to FIX the recent beta 5 problem!!! First did Office-Reset on previous versions but did not fix issue UNTIL this most recent office BETA update:

Microsoft Outlook 16.53.21082901

The update fixed the main crash issue for me, but Outlook still crashes when printing emails.

Updated to Outlook 16.53.21082901 and the app works well. Lot several days using online version with issues. If you already removed the app, don't install outlook from AppStore, you can download the older version (only outlook, not an office combo) at https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdates/update-history-office-for-mac.

After that check for update to get the 16.53.21082901. Issue fixed, haiz...

Same issue here. Odd thing is it was working last week with beta 5, and the same app version (16.52). Looks like a potential server side change on the office365 might have caused this issue.

Beta 6 seems to fix this for me.

Beta 6 also fixed for me. Back in business.

I first removed outlook from Applications, and then re-installed MS Office on the computer. Then it works! I do not need to add my account to outlook, as the accounts remain there.
