Monterey Beta 5 Breaks Outlook

Just installed the beta 5 update. Microsoft Outlook will start but when I select a message to read, the app crashes.

After doing some testing, most messages are fine but if I try to open one from the US Post Office's informed delivery, it shows "Downloading" and then crashes Outlook.

Other messages that contain images, will show the "Downloading" message as well but will eventually load the content.

Is there something I can provide to troubleshoot this?

Outlook and the USPS messages were working fine before the beta 5 install.

Same issue. Very frustrating. The morning after Beta 21A5304g installed. Outlook would run for a minute then crash. Completely removed and reinstalled Outlook. No change.

There is a new update to outlook. 16.53 is back out there. That said it still crashes but now we get a report page and not just an immediate crash.

After today's office update, Outlook works for me but now PowerPoint is crashing.

Just found a workaround. If you can quickly click "switch to new outlook", hit the enter key immediately, then click switch back to old outlook, it will start working (at least that did the trick for me).

I created a new profile and it worked for about 30 minutes. It crashes and creates a crash report to send to Microsoft. I've tried traditional Outlook and "New Outlook" both crash.

I tried reinstalling many times, removing profile, etc. Only thing that worked for me was fully uninstalling office and then downloading from Office 365 instead of App Store. I have it working fine on Outlook 16.52 and Monterey Public Beta 5 (when I logged in and saw it worked, I didn’t want to take any risks updating to beta channel 16.53)! Hope this helps!

I am suffering from the same issue since the outlook 52 on beta 5 and when updated to outlook 53 through the beta version it be came better but the issue still exists only when the message i am opening has multiple threads or it does include attachments. it doesn't matter you are using the new version or old version of outlook (layout) it does stuck only with these two cases attachments or multiple threads in the same massage. other than that everything is working. i have already uninstalled and installed back and nothing is working.

I have been working with MS and have sent multiple log files from Outlook and OS regarding this issue. So far I have been running Mac Mail alongside Outlook and delete the offending emails, force quit and re-open Outlook then go back to Mac Mail and undo the delete so a different email is selected so Outlook won't crash and I don't lose those emails for troubleshooting. I have sent those offending emails to MS on my open ticket as well. I will post any updates from MS.

Just got a suite of updates from Microsoft. Outlook still crashes. Updates to all 6 products. No good news yet.

Well, it seems something has changed. Outlook is now working for me this morning without a new update; I'm now running 16.53 (21082406). And while I'm able to use Outlook now there seems to be some ghost messages here and there that are blank.

Yup - can also confirm all is working now without any intervention - no hangs, no missing emails (Office 365 through Education Queensland account).

Must have been something server side!

Worked for a day or two. Now it's broken again... Same beach ball, same freeze. Tried the beta channel but with no luck.

I opened up Outlook this morning and tried it again. I'm running the latest version of MacOS and Outlook V 16.53 (21082406) and everything is working again. I did not apply any updates since last week so I'm not sure why it started working.

The same crash with Outlook 16.52 on Monterey 12.0 Beta (21A5304g) But today I was updated Outlook from 16.52 to 16.53 beta, and it work smoothly. No crash
