Monterey Beta 5 Breaks Outlook

Same issue here. I'm using the online version to get around the issue now. Hoping we see a fix from either Apple or Microsoft soon. I cannot even get a crash report to help determine the cause of the issue.

same here.. crashes on opening, uninstalled and installed many times..

I tried the method found in MS site: disable the "PostScript Type1" font, it works for me now. Font Book -> Search "PostScript Type1" -> Select found fonts, Right click "Disable Fonts" -> Restart outlook.

Using Safari to run Outlook.Office.com.

Seems to be the only current workaround that I found. Deleted app, and created a shortcut to the website as a placeholder until fix reported.

New beta upgrade from MSFT today. I am now running Outlook v16.53 (21081705) and the problem is still happening for me. Any other news out there?

Same here although I can't even get .53. Best I can do is .52 even on the Beta Channel. This is odd since all the other Microsoft products now say 16.53 except Outlook. Microsoft may have pulled .53. I am getting around it with Parallels running Outlook on a Windows vm. I expect with all the noise on this Apple will do something fairly soon.

I've been running the Monterey betas since beta 3 and just today Outlook started crashing every time I try to open the program. The icon bounces, then I get a brief flash of the outlook screen, and then it crashes. I've tried shutdown/restart and even reinstalling Outlook but nothing works.

Exactly the same problem here - since public beta 5 and using Outlook for Mac 16.52 it crashes continuosly. Have tried the MAU to get hold of 16.53 but I don't even see that version in the MAU beta downloads. Patiently waiting for a new Outlook release or Monterey public beta 6!

Same issue, spinning beachball of death. I've tried creating new profiles, limiting which accounts I use but within 5 minutes it happens again. Monterey Version 12.0 Beta 21A5304g Outlook Version 16.52.21080801

I have the same problem, but it does not relate to whether the email was received immediately following the install, or whether the mail has been previously read.

Outlook hangs with a spinning ball when certain messages are selected in the message list and displayed in the preview pane.

Display of the message is only partial and then Outlook hangs with the partly displayed message and the spinning ball. Force Quit is required.

It appears to relate to the content of the message and whether the message contains a URL and or/and an image.

It does not happen with pure text messages.

It always happens with messages that contain unreachable urls.

It sometimes happens with other messages with urls/images.

It happens persistently with any email for which it happens once. Force Quit does not resolve the issue for affected messages. Previewing such messages after Force Quit and reload of Outlook will yield the same result.

The same problem can be created by right-clicking the message in the message list and attempting to forward it.

It appears that the problem relates to parsing the content of the email message for display or forwarding.

outlook suddenly everything seems to be working without crashing...all i did why try and install outlook again form the app store which failed...rebooted and now its working... outlook 16.53.21081001....be stable for the day so far.

Still spinning after boot, deleting and reinstall Outlook app- not able to access mail inbox in Outlook- just calendar and contacts. 12.0 beta (21A5304g) outlook 16.53.21081001
