Monterey Beta 5 Breaks Outlook

Just installed the beta 5 update. Microsoft Outlook will start but when I select a message to read, the app crashes.

After doing some testing, most messages are fine but if I try to open one from the US Post Office's informed delivery, it shows "Downloading" and then crashes Outlook.

Other messages that contain images, will show the "Downloading" message as well but will eventually load the content.

Is there something I can provide to troubleshoot this?

Outlook and the USPS messages were working fine before the beta 5 install.

Same here. New emails are fine, but if I click on one that has been replied to (stacked view) then it freezes. Only way out is to Force Quit.

As of Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 10:20 AM EDT, I have Microsoft Outlook running on a Monterey Beta 5.

(1) I had Outlook v16.51 running under Monterey Beta 4.

(2) After updating the macOS to Monterey Beta 5, upon launch Outlook v16.51 gave me a spinning beachball of death.

(3) I force-quitted Outlook v16.51.

(4) I launched Microsoft AutoUpdate v4.38, and from Advanced selected Beta Channel.

(5) It showed that Outlook v16.52 was available among other updates for other Office apps.

(6) I chose to update only Outlook.

(7) The updating process went through and AutoUpdate showed that Outlook was updated to v16.52.

(8) I launched Outlook v16.52. It now operates normally without the spinning beachball of death.

I have v16.52 of Outlook, and I was still crashing, but it was only isolated to the first email received immediately following the install of Monterrey (08/14). I can receive and reply to new emails, and emails immediately preceding that one email. I had to delete it from another computer. I found no differentiation with having stacks on or off.

Hi @nunz

your solution worked for me. Thank you so much....

Outlook For Mac Stuck On Determining Changes. Outlook updated to v16.53

I installed MS Outlook 16.53, still crashes on Beta 5 Monterey.

For me outlook 16.52 also crashed each time at startup after installing Monterey Beta 5. After updating to outlook 16.53 it worked ok for a few hours yesterday but when starting work this morning Outlook opens but when I want to go to my inbox, it immediately crashes again and again......! Any suggestion on how to resolve this is highly appreciated🙏!

16.52 or 16.53; using either, Outlook immediately crashes ..

after updating to outlook beta, created a new profile and started fresh and it has worked for me so far. to add a new profile From Finder, open the Applications folder. Ctrl+click or right-click Microsoft Outlook, and then select Show Package Contents. Open Contents > SharedSupport, and then launch Outlook Profile Manager.

Can't manage to see 16.53 as an option in Microsoft AutoUpdate, even after changing to Beta Channel. All other apps (Excel, OneNote, Powerpoint, Word) updated to 16.53 but Outlook not shown as an option. Any suggestions?

Tried the new Profile route as well and was able to initially load the app, but soon crashes right after clicking into my inbox.

I've installed 16.53 / removed re-added profiles / trashed the data and started again.

Same issue - I'm able to click through some emails before it eventually beachballs. Not sure if this is related to the content in the emails; noted that plain text emails open fine.

I've also tried 16.52 & 16.53, removed and re-added profiles. Deleted the app and reinstalled, but the issue still persists. Also tried to switch to the "old look" of outlook. The issue still exists.

Same problem here. Outlook worked fine before the Beta 5 update. Is 16.53 only available under the beta channel for Outlook? Has anyone seen the 16.53 update actually help?

Today is new beta outlook update and its work fine.

I have the same issue. I'm running the most recent MSFT Office 16.53 (21081500) update from the beta channel and the issue is still occuring. Currently using Outlook inside Parallels as a workaround.
