Running apps installed on Big Sur in Monterey Beta.

I hope this is the correct forum to ask about the beta version of Monterey. I'm on the Beta Programme and before I install Monterey, I need to know if existing software drivers and apps I installed while running Big Sur will also run and work on Monterey.

The driver I'm most concerned about is an audio driver for the Pioneer DDJ-SR2 DJ controller and the DJ Pro AI app as well as various photo and video editing apps.

I'm running Big Sur on a 2020 13" MacBook with the M1 chip.

All of the mentioned drivers and app work perfectly on Big Sur. I just want to make sure all of these will run and work on Monterey.

hey Emad-ud-deen,

yup this is the place where you can talk about beta programs cause if you post anything related to beta on the apple community it gets deleted automatically.

you can do 2 things:

The thing is most of the applications run just fine but if you encounter a bug in your workspace it may just ruin your work so what I suggest you is don't take the update stay on bigsur cause it's an optimized operating system.
Take the risk. Back up your files using the time machine get the beta check for your application runnability and if you find any issues come back to the previous version that's it.

I believe we recommend that you only install the betas on secondary/non-essential devices. However, if you have free disk space, you could try partitioning your SSD and installing Monterey on a separate partition to test. That way, if things do not work on the Monterey partition, you can easily go back to Big Sur.
