Since IOS 14.4 My iphone se (1st generation) suffers from battery drain.
excessive battery drain IOS 14.4.2
Since. 14.4.2 - my XR went from 80% to 10% with almost no use today. After charging to 98%, dropped to 50% in two hours with no use.
And me! 14.4.2 is draining my iPad mini, my SE 2nd gen and hubby’s SE 1st gen please can we have a fix ASAP this is dangerous, mobile contact is needed for elderly relative living alone. If there isn’t a new release at least provide a work around to improve battery consumption.
Same with Iphone 11 Promax, 14.4.2
Had to charge 2-3x a day now

Im have iphone 12 pro and i install 14.4.2 battery is terrible. Fast drain battery. Please Apple repair this terrible version.
Same here with my iPhone 11, just had a 15 minute phone call and went from 48% to 30%. I used to go an entire day with 30-40% still remaining on my battery. With the same usage I'm now lucky if I make it to 4 pm on one charge!
It seems to me that some interns code was added to the battery measurement app. When not charging, the battery gauge drops at a constant rate regardless of use. When charging, it goes up by a constate rate. If low power mode is disabled and not charging, the gauge dropping stops.
Regardless of my observations, the fact remains that the battery measurement app doesnt report the true charge of the battery

I have the same problem on my iPhone SE (purchased new just a half a year ago). The battery easily lasted the entire day before and now after the newest update (14.4.2), I’m lucky to get half a day without having to recharge....and I’m actually using the phone less. Really wish Apple would at least acknowledge there is a problem.
Same with me: iPad 2018. I’m charging that thing now AT LEAST once a day. My behavior hasn’t changed and I could easily go 2– days before.
THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED ASAP!

A possible workaround is to enable low power mode. it seems to prevent the bad code that subtracts charge from the battery gauge regardless of use. However, the gauge may not reflect the actual charge since this bad code has corrupted the charge measurement. In the pic, you can see the charge in yellow remains about the same for over 8 hrs. Yellow is when low battery mode is on
I got my brand new iphone 12 mini yesterday and the battery is terrible. I am positive that this update is to blame because my iphone x had the same problem because of which I decided its time to get new one. Extremely disappointed with apple.
Two days ago I became an iPhone user. I bought an iPhone 8 and I was so excited. I installed the 14.4.2 update while I was setting up my iPhone. After the update was complete my battery was around 85%. I began to notice the horrible battery drain after forty three minutes of using the iPhone. It went from 83% to 43% after I played some games for that amount of time. I feel like that big issue is from the new update.
another workaround is make sure your location services and app refreshing under privacy has the right settings that isn't using too much battery. doing that plus low power makes it bearable, but this IOS has injured countless Iphones. What if someone is in a serious situation not near a charger? This is messed up.
This is insane that Apple put this piece of garbage out. Needs to be fixed yesterday. Things like this make me think about buying a Samsung. For all the extra money, and this is the garbage they put out? Really?

All my iPhones are killed by this update. Battery shows 100% health.
I try with disabling background app refresh under Preferences>General.

I've had my iphone 11 for a few days and am noticing the battery draining faster than my old iphone xr
Same issue with 14.4.2 on an iPhone 12 Pro Max. A restart fixes it for a while.
My guess is that a background process went haywire but doesn’t show in battery/usage details.
