Siri in simulator fails

I am having trouble using Siri with iOS 14.4 in the iOS simulator (Version 12.4 (940.20), SimulatorKit 597.13.0.1, CoreSimulator 732.18.6), every request ends with "Sorry, something went wrong. Please try again in a moment."

My assumption is that Siri should be able to answer e.g. a request for the weather in the simulator, is this correct? Or can I only use Siri in the simulator on a development of my app?

I also tried to make sure that this is not an issue with privacy settings, but Xcode or the simulator do not even prompt for microphone access, so I think Xcode can bypass any possible restrictions?

I am running this on a M1 MBP, everything up to date (Big Sur 11.2.1, Xcode 12.4 from the App Store).

Any other ideas or suggestions? Thank you!

Hi, I'm having the same issue on M1 MBA. Did you find a solution?
I have the same problem. It's as if the microphone is not accessible to Siri. Furthermore, the microphone is not accessible to my app speech recognition.
Same problem here.
