Automatic Switch of Airpods pro doesnt work between macbook m1 and iphone 12

I recently bought the new iphone 12, the new macbook M1 Air and the Airpod pros.

All of them are on the newest firmware and updated to Big Sur/IOS 14. All of them are connected under the same apple ID.

But the automatic switching works in absolutely no case. Not with youtube, not with spotify or anything else. I always have to go to bluetooth and connect manually.

Its a bit disappointing since these are all of the newest devices and i expected it to work. Does anyone have an idea how to solve it? Logging off and on the Apple ID and rebooting does nothing..
I am in the exact same situation with the very similar devices...m1 MacBook Air, iPhone 12 pro and AirPods v2 with Wireless charging. Never auto switches between my Mac and iPhone...but will auto switch between my iPhone and iPad every time. Anyone have any idea on this?
Same issue here, iPhone 11 Pro + MacBook Pro M1 and no switching !!!
Same here with very similar devices; MacBook Air M1, iPhone 12 Pro, AirPods Pro.
Same issue: MacBook M1 and AirPods Pro. Not switching between devices.
I have Macbook pro M1, iphone 12 pro max and airpods pro. All are updated. Had difficulties with auto switching between my macbook and iphone but after I read some articles and other forums, seems like it helps to restart your devices, especially the macbook pro. Then the switching became a little better. If Im playing a YT video on my macbook, then I'd pick up my phone and play music on spotify, audio automatically switches to my phone. It takes a second or two though. But I noticed when I want the audio to switch back to my macbook again, I need to manually click on the bluetooth icon, click on my airpods pro twice to make it work on the macbook again. Not sure if this is something that can be fixed.

Same issue here . switching between Mac and iPhone is fine but not the reverse

I have the same exact problem with iphone 12 pro max and M1 Macbook Air. The seemless switching is not working as advertised. Apple needs to fix this ASAP as its hindering our productivity inspite of using such high end and efficient machines.

Same here in beginning of Mar 2022. Macbook pro w m1 on Monterry 12.2.1, iphone 12 pro, and airpod pros.

Having this exact same issue. iPhone 12 Pro Max, M1 MacBook Pro on the latest and greatest updates, and 3rd generation AirPod Pros. If I plug in one AirPod, YouTube works fine. As soon as I plug in the second AirPod, I can see the sound icon at the top switching between the Mac's built-in speakers and the AirPods consistently which ends up pausing YouTube. I really hope this gets resolved as it's becoming quite troublesome.
