Big Sur freezes after screen unlock
I can’t unlock my mac using finger print, but able to using password. However after the unlock, the screen ‘freeze’, mouse is working, I can switch between windows /app using mouse, and drag windows around.. however can’t really click buttons or menus. No keyboard input accepted by application, instead it make ‘invalid key sound’ every time I pressed a key. Cmd-Tab still displaying the “Switcher” to select different application, but it wont switch to the selected application.
It could be that I have not disconnect my external display before I put it into sleep before I left office yesterday.
I'm having the exactly same issue from time to time with my MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2020, Two Thunderbolt 3 ports). It typically freezes after login and upon first keyboard usage. The only thing that is still in working is application switching (either with command-tab or three fingers).
I've recently run into the same issue. Computer screen locks while connected to external screen, using BT keyboard and mouse. I enabled Touch ID, but with the external screen connected, I can't access the button for the scan, so I'm prompted for the password input. After entering the password, the field becomes grey, and the system locks up. Have to hard reboot after that. I'm wondering if it's due to the Touch ID trying to activate, but not being able to.
This issue still exists on Macbook Pro 16-inch M3 Pro running Sonoma 14.5. I have enabled the sleep mode now. Let's see if this fixes the issue.
