iCloud Docs/Desktop in Big Sur

in beta 7 I noticed that when docs/desktop are enabled in iCloud Drive, then those folders don't show in home.

They did in Catalina, is this a bug or expected?

I also notice that when hidden files and folders are shown in the home folder, that desktop and documents are there but only desktop has the hidden faded tint.

It seems like a bug as I can do:

cd ~/Desktop, but the GUI workflow doesn't work the same, I need to instead go into iCloud Drive, as Desktop is hidden in ~.

Maybe a bug...
Today I upgraded from Catalina to Big Sur. All my desktop icons disappeared. Any ideas or recommendations?
Add me to that list. Everything on the desktop is now gone once upgrade to Big Sur was complete.
I have the same problem. All my desktop files and folders appear to be hidden.
typing cd ~/Desktop
and chflags nohidden ./*
in the terminal doesn't help.

My Desktop files were all removed as well. After the latest Big Sur update, my Desktop was empty. In Finder, I discovered that my iCloud had not linked, and needed to select the option to link it to my local machine. Once linked, it took about 20 minutes for the iCloud to connect fully to my MacBookPro. The Desktop folder had been located on iCloud, so I copied the full folder and pasted it on my machine's Desktop. I did not remove the Desktop folder from iCloud just in case there was another disconnect since this appears to be a bug. Perhaps it's a bug, perhaps it's a ploy for Apple to sell cloud upgrades.
stesso problema: dopo aggiornamento a big sur, desktop svuotato. Che fare?
