Sidecar unable to connect/timeout error

I just upgraded to the latest MacOS Big Sur Beta 6 (20A5364e) and iPad OS Beta 7 (18A5369b) and now sidecar will not connect.

I've restarted both devices, reset all data on my iPad, signed out and back in with my Apple ID on the iPad. Still no luck. Any ideas?

I was able to finally fix it by toggling off "Keep Today View on Home Screen" by going to Settings > Home Screen & Dock and toggling it off on my iPad Pro

Ok. The issue is back now. I've been trying to connect to my iPad Pro using sidecar and it times out every time. I've tried the following without success:
  • signed out of my AppleID and back in on both devices

  • toggled on and off the "Keep Today View on Home Screen" setting

  • toggled on and off wifi and bluetooth

  • Reset location & privacy settings on the iPad

  • Reset all settings on the iPad

Nothing has worked. Help!!

I am having the same issues. I am running Big Sur beta 20A5364e on a late 2019 16" MacBook Pro. I tried using two iPad Pros that previously worked and getting the connection timeout on both devices. I tried the following to no resolve.
  • Using different Wi-Fi networks

  • Connecting to USB-C directly with Wi-Fi turned off

Hope this is resolved soon. Using an iPad with Sidecar has been a productivity boost with remote working.
Same issue. 11.0 Beta (20A5384c). Works on matching hardware running 10.15.5.
Same issue here, feedback lodged. 13" MacBook Pro 2018 latest Big Sur build, two iPad pro's 2016 and 2018, one with 14.01 one with 14.2 beta. Sidecar just "timed out"

I've got the same problem with build 11.0.1 (20B29). Did you manage to fix it ?
Kurrle's solution did indeed work for me. What a strange bug.

So the inverse of the solution on this thread worked for me. Weeeeird.

I had solved this by turning off Private Wi-Fi Address & Limit IP Address Tracking on the iPad but when I upgraded the IOS it popped back up again, even with those turned off.

Was able to resolve it by kick starting the bluetooth connection between the MacBook and iPad - sent myself a file via AirDrop and Sidecar started working again.
