Today I've noticed that the Public Beta of macOS Big Sur was released, then I've tried to install on my 2017 MacBook Air, and after installing the Public Beta Access Utility right from the Apple Beta Software Program website I've got an error (on the system preferences window) saying that the update I was looking for isn't available. Can anyone help me with this? (Sorry for my English, im learning)
Installing macOS Big Sur Public Beta (at least trying)
This issue is discussed at length in another thread, https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/649715
Gonzo,
he’s asking about the public beta, not the developer beta. Other thread is regarding the developer beta

As of August 3rd, the Public beta still hasn't been released. What you are seeing is the Developer beta, you should not use it on a production machine or if you're not a developer. It is likely to have many bugs.
Hi, ive had the same problem but with macOS Catalina All you have to do is put this line of code in terminal and it should work after a restart: sudo softwareupdate--reset-ignored Then Put in your admin password and restart your Mac . Hopefully it should work!
I have the same issue but luckily I had the requested software not found so i don't have to deal with all the bugs in the developer beta. Honestly, you should just wait for the public beta so there's a smaller chance something goes wrong
