Can App Clip open from third party apps?

We can open apps with use of universal links and url schemes from third party apps so can we open app clips with app clip urls from third party apps or it is only available to default apps like safari and messenger?

It seems clear now that the answer is “no” with the only exception being via a Safari View controller accessing a site with a Smart App Banner.
