iOS 14 IPSW issues

I have downloaded the IPSW file for iOS 14. I have even installed the profile to the phone. Since the iPhone will not install iOS updates over a another iOS hotspot, I had to download the IPSW file to my MacBook over HotSpot. (Yay Apple) Anyway, whenever I connect the phone to the MacBook and go into the finder window, I click on the phone hold down option and click on update, I then select the iOS 14 file, it gives me “Error 10”, and then the phone defaults to the restore screen and the phone was then be restored to factory. Can iOS 14 only be updated with Big Sur on a MacBook?

You can with your iOS hotspot. You just need a little tweak to it. I hope this reply doesn’t get flagged lol and I hope you see this ...

So after connecting your iPhone to your iOS hotspot or you’re prolly on your mobile network ( cause I didn’t use any WiFi when updating mine )

So after connecting, install the profile, check for the install, if it doesn’t let you install, go to your Date & Time settings, try going to the future lol. I mean 2 - 4 months to the time you are. If this is June. Change your Date to October then go back for the update. I’m pretty sure you’ll be able to install then.... After starting the update. Change your date and time back to it’s normal settings...

After downloading, you’ll experience the same problem with installing. Do the same thing... I hope I helped a lot...

Apparently you need either Big Sur, or download the beta version of Xcode and it will install it.

how can I find the iOS 14 ipsw. I can no longer update OTA for whatever reason and am trying to find the ipsw.

Since iOS 14 Beta has only been released to developers and not available on the beta software site on apple as well, iOS 14 is not available to you. But it is possible to still obtain iOS 14 by downloading the beta profile from a third party source (Search Up iOS 14 Beta profile on Safari) then after downloading, give it a few minutes or hours to download. Then restart your iPhone and begin update process. If the update is not popping up, either your storage space isn't enough to download the update(iOS 14 is about 5gb I believe) or the profile you downloaded is counterfeit and not a real beta profile. I have iOS. 14 on my iPhone XS Max right now and it has a few bugs - shuts down and/or freezes sometimes. Here's the source I used to download the beta profile - betaprofiles.com ! Please becareful because there are profile softwares that are mimicking beta profiles and may trespass your privacy.

Error 10 means iOS version is ahead of what iTunes supports

since iOS 14 is in beta and not public you can’t update it
wait for public beta to be released

Love how I can’t update. To iOS 14 via OTA. OR EVEN With my iMac have else works fine I even restored my iPhone and tired of greasy no luck this seems to be the case for ever iPhone new iOS update. it’s completely stupid talked to someone and they told me to try the same things I tried at the point I hung up and said f this I rather he jailbroken Not like it’s really anything huge if you been jailbroken and plus there way more better things guess I’ll be able to update my Apple Watch when the new iPhone comes out witch is another stupid thing. How come we have to update to the new os. Even just to update a Apple Watch once again Apple has failed me and the plus side. I can do way more stuff with my jailbreak. and I’ll just wait for the new phone to be Apple to us the new watch stuff yea this is a rant but if anyone else can’t update on are on iOS 13.5 and really want widgets just jailbreak is way better any
