Where does all of the money from my sales go?

My "Sales" for the month of November were, lets say, $1500. I understand that Apple keeps a chunk of that, leaving me with a "Proceeds" amount of about $1000. Come time to receive the funds in my bank account, and I only receive about $750.

Why am I only receiving half of my sales? Am I missing something? Does iTunes automatically withhold taxes? I'm just very confused about the financial aspect of iTunes Connect.

You should be receiving 70% of your sales, not 50%. But perhaps not when you think. A common source of confusion is the different time reporting periods between the Trend report numbers, which are said to be just estimates, and the iTunes Connect Payments and Financial Report numbers. Payments that some developers think belong to sales in one month may show up in the next months Financial Reports, and subsequently later payments. Please check Apple's Fiscal Calendar, for which there's usually a link at the bottom on the iTunes Connect Payments and Financial Report web page.

I see %30 less than it should be for my next payment ( which means there is a problem for december. And some people experienced this ). . My proceeds are about 806$ where as next payment shows me 550$

The difference is likely to be sales taxes, in particular in EU where VAT rates can be as high as 27%. This is deducted before Apple takes its 30% so the net proceeds are likely to be around 55%-65% of ***** revenue. This tax policy came into force in Jan 2015.

Also currency translations and refunds will have an impact on the final figures too.

Hello duffann,

Did you resolve the issue? I'm facing the same issue now, and in "Payments and Financial Reports" shows way less money, than my proceeds are (Also shows way less app sales than is "Sales and Trends")

i have just sold one app to germany.
app price is 1$.
my proceed is 0.36$.
so much VAT in EU!
i know apple will lower their cut to %15 in 2021 but it should be between %7-%5 at some regions.

Where does all of the money from my sales go?
