I have an application, aimed at the faithful of the Catholic Church, where they can obtain information on Mass times and parish notices.

Within my app it is also possible for the faithful to do Tithes and Offers, but my app was rejected saying that my business rule was not accepted, it was also said that for my app to include these options I should open a page in the browser to tithing or offering.

But I see some other apps that work with donations, inside the app itself, without needing to open anything external, making the user maintaining the experience of the app.

Applications like PicPay for example.

I would like to know how I do to give the same experience to my users, and because in my application this business rule is not accepted, and in others it is accepted!

Hi Bruno,

Apps are allowed to accept donations. Nonprofit platforms that connect donors to other nonprofits are also allowed as long as every nonprofit listed in the app has also gone through the nonprofit approval process. I have helped a nonprofit setup Apple Pay donations in their app before, but I have not setup a nonprofit platform.

In your case the nonprofit approval process would require each church who wants to accept donations to register themselves with Benevity.org and provide your Apple Developer Team ID. Once approved you’d be able to submit your app to the App Store for review.

Hi David,

Currently I am developing an app which will be available a free app in the app store.
In the settings I want to include a banner with the text "If you like this app please consider to make a donation to Wings of Support." and a logo with "click to donate".
Referring to the previous reply by davidolesch I asked this charity organization to register with Benevity.org; which they did.

Questions:

Should the "click to donate" link goto an external website or through Apple? Or what payment options are there?
The Apple Develope Team ID should be provided to Benevity.org during registration? Or?
Now the app is being developed by a 3rd party developer and I was invited in their team, but the idea is that the app will be published under my own Developer account. How to do this?
