Can't Update My App, Bundle Name Taken

I have an app on the app store, I am trying to update it. I have built my new version (with a new version #) and built the archive. When I try to get it so I can access it in app store connect it tells me that the archive is rejected because the bundle name is already in use or unavailable. Here are some other details in case it helps:

  • I am using the same developer account profile as when I submitted my initial store verison (the one associated with my business)
  • The new version has the exact same bundle identity as the previous version
  • The new version shows up in my archive in the same set as my previous version that is currently on the app store
  • I have already contacted apple support and they said this falls into a grey area where they don't have direct support and to ask the forums

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to resolve this?
Thank you

I'd make another request and ask them to call you back. If everything you say about that app is confirmed true, there is a problem on the backend, out of your control.

In any case, I can't imagine them effectively saying it's not their job, but it wouldn't be the first time support pushed someone here just to get them off the phone. Tell them the forums pushed you back to support 😉

That said, I'd want to know how many Apple IDs total you use to interact with how many total dev accounts...

Don't know whether it is too late to answer, you might need also check your target name of the new project, need be the same with the old one. I encountered the same issue, solved and answered in stackoverflow. https://stackoverflow.com/questions/56411310/swap-out-old-project-with-new-one
