App Getting Rejected Because of 'Gambling and Contests'
We have created an app for the catering company who provide food for all the local school restaurants. The purpose of the app is mainly educational; schoolchildren can see the upcoming menus, parents can find out the nutrients (to double check for allergens etc), there are articles, etc etc. To actually have children install such a boring app, they get to win prizes. All they need to do is download the app and have the notifications on. We send out random push notifications, the kid shows up with the app at the school café with the app, and gets a pop socket or whatever. The app is free, and you can buy nothing with the app. There's no registration process either, so it's all completely anonymous. We've double and triple checked everything with lawyers, and it's all 100 % in accordance with the Finnish law — this is the local municipality after all. Here's the problem: We are repeatedly failing the review process, and are now being required set a 17+ age limit ('Gambling and Contests'), when virtually. none of the users of the app would be above that limit. We've tried rewording everything; we carefully tried removing everything that could be interpreted as gambling and replaced it with "gifts" and "giveaway". We tried adding all kinds of clarifications to the rules, tried to describe in the resolution center what the app is about, etc. But no luck. We are just getting the same copy and paste stuff back with slightly different screen shots. When I tried to ask for clarification, the reply I got was they can't make suggestions. So, any ideas?
