Comment on Find My unable to connect to server
No I didn’t. The only thing I did yesterday evening (UTC Time) was related to my Apple Watch running watchOS 8. On my iPhone I went into settings, general, iPhone storage, Watch and deleted some really old backups. Since my issue started with just resetting and new pairing of my Apple Watch I noticed during the setup that I had a large Nummer of Apple Watch backups to choose from, so I thought I clean that up…. But I’m almost sure this is not related at all. This morning I opened “Find my” and it was just working… But I’m now staying away to reset and pair my Apple Watch again until watchOS 8 and iOS 15 gets released… and I don’t even want to do another test run to see if it is causing the issue again…

I’m totally ok with bugs on devices that are running beta SW but if it’s disabling functions on device running released SW then this is something else. They should now get the right technicians on that issue… otherwise device tracking is disabled on all devices associated with that Apple ID. So what are they now suggesting? That we switch switch to another Apple ID??? That’s by the way not even an option… I’m really hoping that they getting more pressure now from the public beta testers (hoping the error still persists…)

Yes, I updated to watchOS 8 beta 1 and then did the reset due to another problem and a new pairing. Since then if have the Find my error message on all my devices. So at least in my case it was triggered from watchOS 8 beta 1. Now on Beta 2, whenever I shut off my Apple Watch and power it back on I only get presented with the default watchface, all other Watchfaches are not synchronized - they are still visible on the iPhone app but not on the Watch. The only way to fix this is to reset the Apple Watch, do the paring, install the beta profile right afterwards and then do the rest of the setup… so most likely this is another issue with watchOS 8 beta 2…

Very frustrating, indeed! Find my only show the timestamp and location of my devices that last time I was able to track them down. Tacking AirTags still works, but that’s pretty much it… could it be that this error only relates to people running iOS 15 beta 1 that ad to reset a device or restored their device via a backup? I just did a reset of my Apple Watch and paired it again… that somehow triggered this issue (or was that just a coincidence…)

It has to to with resetting / restoring iOS 15 beta devices. Error appeared with my Apple ID after I did a reset of my Apple Watch 6 running watchOS 8 beta 1 and did a new pairing afterwards. Since then I get presented with the error message on all of my Apple devices (iOS, iPadOS, watchOS and macOS) independent of the running version of the OS. Only via the iCloud webpage I can see the location of my associates / peers. If I go into the settings of my iPhone - Settings, Apple ID, Find My I also get the error message and I can’t switch of the lever “sharing my location” - it immediately presents me with error message again (most likely as I can’t connect to the tracking service).
