ok guys...so the solution to this problem is to revive the bridge os from a secondary MacBook using apple configurator 2 available on the App Store.
I have faced this issue for months with both developer and public beta's and the only working fix I found is this.
pretty sure it will work and then thank me when ur on big Sur :-)
search for "reviving firmware/bridgeos" and u'll find a step by step guide.

APPLE seriously needs to address this issue !!! facing the same problem since developer beta n now same error with the PUBLIC BETA too...WTH..?!!!
facing the same issue...u can go to folder
/var/log/install.log
and get the reason.
what was the reason in your case ?
were u able to resolve the issue ?
if yes please suggest me a workaround..
