Comment on Eye tracking in VisionOS
BTW, I understand the sensitivity of user privacy. Apple has the ability to craft legal agreements and detect malicious use of code and API's. Between these tools, it should be possible to afford graphics developers, researchers, etc, gaze information for intended uses only. I'd be happy going through a longer review process, extra contract, vetting so that the information can be used for benign purposes to craft better experiences. The lack of gaze means the device is of limited value.

There are render time optimizations that can only be achieved understanding what the user is looking at. We can optimize for lod, level of physical simulation quality, state recompute. There are endless tricks that can be pulled to make more impressive experiences on limited resources. None can be exploited without access to gaze position.

Comment on DriverKit by Third Party question
I am so confused. We want to write a generic driver , similar, for USB generic audio interface. The intention of the interface is that anyone can write a driver for the hardware. Is it Apple's position that each hardware manufacturer must write their own driver for industry standard interfaces designed with the purpose of eliminating this requirement? I have reached out to some of these hardware suppliers and they have no interest to write DriverKit specific drivers on their own.
