During my testing so far, I have not been able to get the local notification to display in the CarPlay UI, though it performs as expected on the iPhone.

Same here. I tried creating a new key and invalidating the old one, but it doesn't seem to help.
How much are you offsetting the start time? I tried different values like -1, -5, -10 and it still doesn't work. And how far into the future did you set exp ?
