Yes, the update did not fix the battery issues that have already happened. 11.2.1 has been tried and my battery remains at 1%. It seems a permanent damage to our batteries. I think the update just prevents new cases from happening. I will send it to Apple to get the battery replaced soon. Some friends are lucky enough to get the battery recovered by downgrading the OS, but I used to try this and failed. Just back-up your data using Time Machine if you want to have a try, and leave your info here for others' reference. My friends in China told me that the genius bars there have already stopped suggesting customers replacing batteries to solve this. Hundreds of similar cases were reported there. Thus, there is a possibility that Apple has already noticed this and taken actions. However, not sure when Apple will finally solve it. I tried the lastest Big Sur 11.2 RC, but the problem still exists. FYI.

Please call Apple Customer Service and report this together. Hundreds of similar cases can be found on social media across the world... Battery replacement may not solve the problem, since some people replaced their keyboards and batteries before upgrading to Big Sur and had the charging issue after upgrading the OS. It is really annoying....

After Christmas, I found that I could not turn on my MacBook Pro 2017 with BigSur 11.1. Battery shows 1% and not charging. I am not sure when I upgraded my OS to 11.1 but absolutely it was my worst decision in 2020. Now I can not work without a charge and I am even afraid to shut down my laptop. Come on, Apple. You ended up 2020 with such a big bug...
