Comment on Big Sur panic when connect/disconnect usb-c dock
Feb 9, 2022 I have an MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2018) on macOS Monterey 12.2. It's been crashing for 1 month 3 - 5 times per week with the same panic: panic(cpu 4 caller 0xffffff801d1029ad): userspace watchdog timeout: no successful checkins from remoted in 180 seconds (I can provide the full message if needed) This was happening on 12.1 weeks ago. Support told me to upgrade to 12.2 and it just happened again this morning. It seems to always happen first thing in the morning when I plug the laptop into my Belkin Thunderbolt 3 Express Dock, and makes me late to meetings waiting for it to reboot. I was so happy to find this thread because I can say I'm not the only one now. I went into Apple Store and did every troubleshooting step except leave the laptop with them for days so they can run a deeper level of tests plugging it into external monitors. I report to Apple every time. If this is a real problem, why isn't Apple doing anything about it? Why are we posting this issue on a Developer forum? Does Apple R&D look at this forum to get information on bugs? This is a HW/SW stability issue, and has nothing to do with code that I have written. Anyhow, how do we get this fixed?
