I can't seem to edit my own post, so I need to clarify that this problem relates to the .colorEffect SwiftUI view modifier.
With distortionEffect, where no colorisation is performed, the image renders properly in both Light and Dark mode.

Thank you for the answer Rich.
However, this is an extreme amount of work, and most of it is error-prone and brittle.
The "original_app_version" and corresponding checking functionality should have been made available through a simple API on StoreKit 2.
Please consider adding this functionality to StoreKit.
Regards.
This needs to be solved for Xcode 12, immediately. We can't be waiting minutes at a time for an app to launch, either on device or in the Simulator. And we can't ship apps with Xcode 13 beta.
texture.cgImage() isn't working properly in iOS 13.4. It returns a corrupted image.
(Can't make edits, so have to reply to my own post)
I found this document:
https://developer.apple.com/design/human-interface-guidelines/ios/visual-design/adaptivity-and-layout/
It lists the "iPhone SE" (640px × 1136px) as a required device. And since the SE runs iOS 13/14, I guess that means that we must support it.
Cheers.

Anyone? I can't find this information in the official App Store Guidelines.
