I've been having typing lag problems when using intel gpu and it seems that gpu is running with too low speed when there is no load for it, because lag goes away if I watch video at same time I type (still using intel gpu). So I was just wondering how to change the minimum running speed of Intel gpu to fix this. You really are onto something with this. I also noticed that my MBP 16 stops lagging as hell and starts being a proper expensive productivity laptop when I have Youtube in the background while keeping on the Intel gpu. As soon as I let Intel gpu "go idle" and start typing, the lag is back... So it must be the graphics and/or drivers because, like others, I don't have problems when I force usage of Radeon gpu. Which I don't want to do all the time because the battery life is significantly shorter and the laptop is way much hotter.
