I got it to work on my iPhone 7Plus by ticking the "Private Wifi-Adress" setting in the network specific settings. Even though it is still shown as a low security network (which isn't true i think) . Before it was shown as unsecure network and wouldn't connect. The Probelm occurred on Fritz!Box! routers. It seemed to work on a different router of mine which was provided and branded by Vodaphone.
