You're right. The volume I referred to was my distinction and isnt what the OS would consider volume, got that mixed up in the question, but basically wanted to know if there was a way to determine this logical volume or know that this is a remote file/ file coming from a 3rd party app and hence I do the handling differently.

Fairs, thanks, but for paths from 3rd party apps I cant seem to use volumeURLKey as mentioned by another engineer here, it isnt a separate volume and it may work differently internally(local download im guessing). Some seem to be appended to File Provider Storage(On my iPhone) while some seem to be connected to Cloud Storage folder. Any idea if it is possible to determine which part of the path this drive starts from or determine if this file selected by the user comes from an storage app?
Fairs, Thank you.
Fairs, thank you.
And if I wanted to make sure that the data files persist unless user explicitly deletes them, and doesn't get deleted due to some uninstallation, would letting the user pick a location to store them make sense?
Hi, thanks for responding, would you mind explaining what you mean by brittle wrt the 2nd option?
