Symlink Question - OS X Mounting Shared Network Drive via CIFS

Hi,


We have created symlinks on a network shared drive that point to other files on the same network shared drive. The purpose is for deduplication in order to regain free space on the shared drive.


Many users with Mac computers mount this particular shared drive via CIFS. While the symlinks show as Alias, they do not work when a Mac OS X user clicks on them.


What should we investigate to see why the links are not working for our Mac user community?
