BETA 2

If you don't see updates for Beta 2 in the App Store you need to copy-paste the following command in Terminal to fix what seems to be a fairly common calalog problem:

sudo softwareupdate --set-catalog https://swscan.apple.com/content/catalogs/others/index-10.11seed-10.11-10.10-10.9-mountainlion-lion-snowleopard-leopard.merged-1.sucatalog.gz

And try refreshing updates in the App Store again.

If the updates for Beta 2 are still not visible in the App Store, you'll need to download Beta 2 from the following links:

http://swcdn.apple.com/content/downloads/07/10/031-25506/wy6k3cd22jejq1j83kmahud7zwbaxid2z6/OSXUpd10.11.pkg

for the main Beta 2 Update

http://swcdn.apple.com/content/downloads/15/54/031-25507/rjki32of9yi5zydmfv8o9v04h7s3b3vw0c/RecoveryHDUpdate.pkg

for the Recovery HD Update

http://swcdn.apple.com/content/downloads/07/10/031-25506/wy6k3cd22jejq1j83kmahud7zwbaxid2z6/FirmwareUpdate.pkg

for the Firmware Update

Open the main Beta 2 update last as this requires a restart.

BETA 3

Finally, if the updates for Beta 3 are also not visible in the App Store, you'll need to download them from these links:

http://swcdn.apple.com/content/downloads/45/55/031-27723/jfp6s17zwamp7zr7iwmkmdigzudq3fd72e/OSXUpd10.11.pkg

for the main Beta 3 Update

and

http://swcdn.apple.com/content/downloads/45/55/031-27723/jfp6s17zwamp7zr7iwmkmdigzudq3fd72e/FirmwareUpdate.pkg

for the (beta 3) Firmware Update

Again, open the main Beta 3 update last as this requires a restart.

Unfortunately apple removed DP2 from the sucatalog. So you have to update DP1 to DP2 via direct links then to DP3 either through the mac app store or by direct links since DP3 is just a delta update not a combo and the only full installer so far is for DP1.

You method on beta 3 helps me a lot. Thank you.

Apple have now put DP2 back into the sucatalog.

Maybe they read some of our stuff here and changed their mind about it.

✅ Good to hear! I suspected as much earlier today when someone told me they updated through to Beta 3 via the App Store but didn't stop to check.

And do you see the OSXUpd10.11Patch.pkg there. That's new isn't it?

Yeah. But that would apply only to a small number of computers. It would contain only that part of the full delta that those computers need. Most computers would need the full delta.

If you update via the mac app store, then it will determine which one the computer needs. The idea is that it is a smaller download and may save time. But it isn't much smaller. It is 1.44GB.

It wouldn't hurt if those few computer requiring the patch to install the full delta instead so I don't think you need to add the direct link for the patch file. Actually that could be dangerous because if someone installs a patch file when their computer needed the full delta then they could end up missing part of the update.

Thinking along the same lines. I wasn't planning on linking to it though; just peaked my curiosity.

Actually I think this is why apple removed DP2 from the sucatalog in the first place. Patch files are supposed to go into the same directory as deltas and originally there wasn't one. So it seems they pulled DP2 and then put it back replete with patch file. I just wish they did it quicker than they did because the time in between has caused major difficulties for many developers.

If it is not showing under your updates, trying going under the Purchased tab, my update was right at the top.
