Internal display + eGPU on 10.13 B3?

I have

  • Official Apple Metal 2 Developer Kit (Sonnet 350 + Sapphire RX 580)
  • Late 2016 (i7-6567U) 13" MBP w/ Four TB3 Ports
  • Sonnet eGPU box plugged into left-hand side MBP TB3 port
  • 10.13 Beta 3 (17A306f)
  • System Report shows

  • Radeon RX 580:
      Chipset Model: Radeon RX 580
      Type: GPU
      Bus: PCIe
      PCIe Lane Width: x4
      VRAM (Total): 8 GB
      Vendor: AMD (0x1002)
      Device ID: 0x67df
      Revision ID: 0x00e7
Metal: Supported, feature set OSX_GPUFamily1 v2

I'm wondering if I can get the RX 580 to accelerate the built-in laptop display instead of having to plug an external display into the eGPU enclosure.

If this is not supported in Beta 3, is it targeted for the High Sierra final release?

    Thanks!

    Hello

From what i read, the egpu developer kit is not intended to accelerate the internal display, altough, if you google fu a little about egpu (wich is a big community that exist for way longer that when Apple decide to jump in), you found receipe to use the Egpu to accelerate the internal display with some software.
