iTunes on Sierra GM doesn't backup iPhone

Using latest GM build of macOS Sierra GM and it comes with iTunes 12.5.0.158.

Whenever trying to back-up iPhone (iOS 10 GM) with iTunes (12.5.0.150) on macOS Sierra GM it comes back with an error saying: iTunes cannot backup iPhone because of not enough space on this computer...though there is more space than the total capacity of the actual iPhone. Also the iPhone has got about 12GB of free space on it. Backing up works fine on iTunes for Windows (latest version)

Any of you guys have the same issue?

iTunes 12.5.1.21

mac os 10.12

iPhone 6 ios 10.02


will not backup my phone anymore


"operation timed out"


"itunes could not backup iphone because the backup session failed"
