iPhone 4 & later natively support the Bluetooth Message Access Profile but is it possible to write a custom MAP app? I can't find any iOS API's that allow a developer to write a custom MAP app yet there are BT app's on the appstore that support transfer of messages, photos etc.
What I'm trying to do is write a custom iphone app that can communicate with an external hardware device using the MAP. I would use the BLE profile but the problem is that the external hardware device has a BT v2.1+EDR chip embedded which does not supprt BLE.
