2015 rMBP Heating up while sleeping

I updated my Yosemite machine to the GM candidate and have been experiencing some strange activity while sleeping. Any time the mac is sleeping, it begins to heat up quite a bit, and there is nothing I can seem to find that causes it. A SMC reset does nothing and neither does a PRAM reset. I have fiddled with the power options to no end, yet I still can't fix it, and I've changed a few setting with the pmset command (and changed them back after nothing worked).

I'm about at my wit's end here. I'd like to avoid a reformat and clean install if possible.

Here's a small sample of the repeating console message I get with 'syslog |grep -i "Wake reason"':

ARPT is AirPort, I believe, but a HID service is also waking the Mac. I am unsure what to do is it is a HID making it, and turning off AirPort has given me no successful results...

Any ideas?

I believe your issue may have to do with enhanced notifications. See this support page: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204353

I think that the Enhanced Notification process is getting stuck in a loop and burning CPU. You may be able to work around this bug by switching on "Do not disturb" from the Notifications panel or by setting it to run at particular times from System Preferences > Notifications.

This is quite a common issue and has a long thread with many contributors over on Communities: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7010693. The only two workarounds currently known are to reinstall OS X (if you feel inclined, try re-installing over what you have from Recovery Mode - this won't touch your user account or data etc.) The other workaround is to disable wifi from the menubar before putting the MacBook to sleep.
