I'm trying to get 10.11 running on an old MacBook Pro (3,1) aka "Santa Rosa". I installed the first beta, then somewhere around the 3rd beta update, the machine froze. I know this because other people in the office came screaming "the network is down" (I guess an important Skype call had been interrupted). Somehow, the 10.11 managed to crash or get stuck in a loop which took out our entire Ethernet network. Scary.
Anywyay - is anyone else out there having luck with an old (but techncially compatible) macbook pro such as this? It's a "mid 2007" model, but I believe that it should run both Yosemite and El Cap.
