watchOS 6 workout recovery doesn't work?

Has anyone managed to get handleActiveWorkoutRecovery() to work in watchOS 6.01? This seems to work in watchOS 5 but in watchOS 6 the OS doesn't seem to wake the app up in the same way and handleActiveWorkoutRecovery() is never called at all. I've tried everything with a project that had an implementation that worked in watchOS 5 even resetting the whole watch thinking something got messed up in the installation. Anyone have the same issue?

I have exactly the same problem. It was working in watchOS5. It no longer works in watchOS 6. handleActiveWorkoutRecovery does not get called after the app reboots.
