The provided verification url is like https://domain.com/.well-known/xxxxxx, per some internal rules I setuphttps://www.domain.com/.well-known/xxxxxx for verification and failed. My question is must the url match exactly? Even a 301 redirect from domain.com to www.domain.com won't work?
I can only answer from my own experience, but I was unable to verify my "domain.com" when it performed a 301 redirect to the corresponding path on "www.domain.com". Temporarily serving directly from the bare domain allowed me to verify (after which I restored the redirect to www and the domain still shows as verified in the developer portal).
