macOS Mojave freeze and loud fan noise after 10.14.5 update

I'm experiencing this problem too. My iMac freezes serveral times a day since updating to 10.14.5 😢

But this happens not only when playing media – seems totally random to me.

I am experiencing the same issue. iMac freezes, the fan spins up to the highest speed, then the machine reboots. It's happened 3-4 times in the last 24 hours and seems random to me as well. I was about to restore a time machine backup to the previous beta, but I noticed Beta 2 is out now so I will give that a try.

Just to update, I have not had this issue again since updating to the next beta release. 10.14.5 Beta (18F108f)
