Unable to mount Samba share - Linux and Windows machines on same network fine

Other users of a Samba-provided network share (from an Amazon Linux machine) can connect fine (Ubuntu 18.04 LTS, Windows 10, Windows 7).

Mac users are prompted for a password, and then the connection hangs. The GUI just displays "connecting" and the 'mount -t smb ...' command in Terminal displays no further output after prompting.

Windows 7 in a Virtual Machine (modern.ie, VirtualBox) on the same Mac can access fine.

Any ideas what could be up ? Or where to look for more logs ?

You are, alas, in the wrong place (this area of Apple Developer Forums is focused on files and storage APIs). You might have better luck asking this question over in Apple Support Communities, run by Apple Support.
