crash initializing UITabBar from .xib, xcode9+

Question

this code previously worked in older versions of xcode

getting a crash at app launch on +[UILabel defaultFont] when init'ing the main app tab bar from an XIB file

when building w/ xcode9.2

anyone see this, know a solution?

What crash report do you get ?

You should also post the code that crashes, that will probably ease the diagnostics.

i put a snapshot of the stack trace here as much as i could copy

didnt this editor used to allow us to upload images?
