This post on CommandMenu - https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/651429 and this post - https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/651748 show how to add to the macOS menu bar, but how does one use the existing menus? e.g. Add more options to the File menu; or modify an action on existing options like File > New.
