How to test iCloud backup/restore with a TestFlight build?

I'd like to be able to test that my app's SQLite database and user generated data is successfully restored in a pre-release build. Is this even possible with iCloud backup or are TestFlight apps ignored?

TestFlight apps do have the data backed up to iCloud. So this can be tested.
