What happens to OTA delivered apps if developer program subscription expires?

Hi everyone, I maintain an app that is distributed via OTA (users of institution download it from a site, after logging in).

  • I have enterprise developer subscription (299€)

what happens if I forgot to renew my subscription?

  1. I think I cannot make new .ipa files, right?
  2. what happens to apps already on devices? will they still be working? opening, notifications etc...
  3. what I materially need to do BEFORE subscription expires? is it enough to enable auto renewal or I need to do something on Xcode?
