iOS 18 beta 2 multiple issues and work arounds

First installed iOS couple days ago. IPhone SE able to function as normal.

Then came the beta 2 update, which resulted in multiple issues.

List of issues:

  1. Phone heats up and battery gets drained
  2. Phone restarts after 13-15 minutes of normal use, doesn’t matter which app
  3. Touch screen either lags or is unresponsive
  4. Face ID to unlock phone is random
  5. After the phone restarts it self, locking and unlocking the phone freezes the lock display

Workarounds for above issues:

  1. Voice recognistion as draining the battery as per information in settings>Battery. Turned it off. Only appear to fix for short term, above issues reappear.
  2. Tried to close all the apps and clear storage as much as possible . issues persist
  3. had to wait a few seconds for the phone to catch up after using the touch screen
  4. Reset Face ID. Confirmed Face ID working for authentication apps. Temporary fix as issue reappear after phone restarts itself
  5. Press the lock button again and try to unlock phone. Also use iwatch to unlock phone. Only temporary work around until the phone restarts its self.

Bottom line, a user should NOT have to look for a work around but the work around at least buys the user a few more minutes of phone use before it restarts itself again.

Does anyone know when’s the next update? I’m avoiding using maps while driving at the moment just incase it freezes while driving.

Firstly, you shouldn't install a beta OS on your primary device.

Secondly, have you raised Feedback reports for each individual issue? If not, please do so at https://www.apple.com/feedback/ then post the FB numbers here.

I also have multiple issues.

1 airplane mode won’t turn off after turning it on. 2 notifications do not go away even after reading the message.

My iPhone 15 pro heated up and then I tried to backup with my macbook but it showed error and then I decided to erase all settings directly from iphone and now I have just a brick. It does not show any signs of life

Mail will not load it keep spinning and saying loading. On cell data and Wifi

The only issue I seem to be having since downloading iOS 18 are with the three horizontal dots that show to the right of a song after you browse something in Apple Music. They appear normally but do not register a touch and give me no action when being touched. Thank you.

Are you sure you're using an SE? If you are that would explain why Face ID isn't working. The SE uses fingerprint on the home button. It doesn't have facial ID.

I faced the same problem with my iPad getting stuck during the iOS 18 Beta 2 update. After trying many solutions like restarting, using Restore mode, and even DFU mode, none of them worked for me, and I kept getting error 2006.
