We have some strange behavior with iPhones where when we send SMS messages to the handset, in some cases the embedded links are not clickable. So far we have not been able to track down what specific set of circumstances are causing this. We do know that once a handset is receiving the SMS with an embedded link correctly it always seems to work. We have noted that the follow seems to cause failures:
- users on some networks such as T-Mobile
- new users who have never received an SMS from us.
In these cases, it appears that with high-frequency, the SMS embedded link is NOT clickable. For reference our text message looks like:

Questions:
1. What are the rules by which an embedded link is treated as clickable.
2. Were there any changes recently (other than link preview) that would affect whether a link was considered clickable.
