Compatibility Issue with iOS17 Beta's Live Voicemail

Dear Apple Team, We hope you're doing well. We are writing on behalf of our team at YouMail, with a query about your recently announced feature, 'Live Voicemail', currently part of the iOS17 Beta. Since introducing this feature, we have noticed that it is switched on by default on devices that update to the iOS17 beta. This has considerably affected our voicemail service, YouMail Voicemail, and the standard carrier voicemail systems used by many of our customers. The new feature intercepts incoming calls before they are forwarded to the intended voicemail system, thus disrupting their usual operation. Our YouMail app has been a fixture on the iOS marketplace since 2009, and we take great pride in providing a reliable and user-friendly voicemail service to our many customers. We are fully committed to ensuring that our app continues to function effectively and that it remains compatible with new iOS updates. We fully appreciate the innovative nature of the 'Live Voicemail' feature and its potential value to iOS users. However, we believe that its current default settings could pose challenges for our customers and those of other voicemail service providers who upgrade to iOS17. Therefore we kindly request information on a couple of key points:

  1. Will this feature remain switched on by default in the public release of iOS17?
  2. There is currently no way of detecting if 'Live Voicemail' is currently enabled or not, would there a way for us to determine this?

Such information will greatly assist us in planning and customer service efforts, ensuring we can provide our customers with the best possible support and guidance. We look forward to your response and to continuing to offer our services seamlessly to iOS users. Thank you for your time and consideration.
