Sometimes my MacBook just freezes. I can't do anything. Looks like configd process overloads CPU. I run configd in verbose mode and here the logs.
MacBook overloads by configd
This is a WIDESPREAD problem with older macbooks with replaced batteries, e.g. https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/macbookpro-mid-2015-mds_stores-or-configd-cpu-high-load.2380126/page-4
Give it a go with some solutions from the topic above. Another alternative: https://www.reddit.com/r/mac/comments/15n1q3y/how_to_improve_an_intel_macbooks_battery_life_by/
Apple is too courageous to care about such minuscule problems that affect only a couple million of Pro users. New emojis await!
For me it happens with Apple M1 Max 64Gb. I is started after upgrade to Sequoia. Battery is original. Nothing was replaced in the laptop.
