watchOS 9.1 beta 2 crashing Watch faces?

I just got an Apple Watch Series 8, and I've updated it to the latest beta of watchOS 9.1.

About 6 times a day I have to hard reboot the Watch because the Watch faces stop working. The screen goes black. I can access the app list, run apps etc., but the Watch face just isn't there anymore. Notification Centre and swipe up settings work fine; it's just the Watch faces.

As I said, a reboot fixes it, but it just dies randomly afterwards.

Is anyone else experiencing this with this beta? Given that I've got a new device and updated to new software, there are two variables to consider.

I don't see how it can be a hardware issue because the screen works fine for everything else. If it's just this beta, then I can wait for the next one.

Thanks.

I have been having the same problem since I put in my beta and was just looking for information.

I have also installed the latest public beta in series 5 and am experiencing the random disappearance of FACEs. I believe it is a glitch in the OS as I can swipe up and down to see the control center and notifications.

I also feel that this version is very buggy, as the overall response is sluggish and the wallet display is not responsive.

It's definitely happening more often on the Infograph watch face. Solar Dial seems fine, as do Modular Compact and Modular.

Same happened to me, on Apple Watch Series 7. It happened on Explorer, Modular, Infograph, GMT.

I submitted the bug via Feedback Assistant with this ID: FB11582330.

I can also confirm that it seems a little sluggish, especially in the watch faces, which sometimes even become unresponsive.

watchOS 9.1 Public Beta 3 has released, so I have installed it on my Apple Watch.

Unfortunately, however, the problem does not seem to have been solved.

I have only tried InfoGraph, but there is a slight visible lag in transitioning to always-on mode when covered by hand, unlike faces which obviously has no other problems.

Also, if left in place for a while, it takes a few seconds to touch the screen to return to it, and the response is also very slow.

The workaround for the time being is to use another stable alternative faces, as was posted earlier. In my case, Solar and the Photo face are stable and usable.

Yeah, I've experienced the Watch faces ignoring input. Seems like a massive regression in this beta, and there was me hoping it would've fixed all the issues I'm having with complications...

In the newly released 9.1 beta 4, this problem seems to have been fixed. It seems InfoGraph is now stable.

9.1 is now public, and installed on my Series 5 today around 7am CDT. Since then, the watch wont keep me signed in and connected to my phone. It keeps prompting for the passcode even though it hasnt been removed. This update is showing major issues.
